Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore® is seeking a Fire Restoration Technician to monitor, inspect, and complete restoration tasks including drying, demolition, and pack-out of contents. You will prepare documentation for insurance reimbursement and explain processes to customers in person.

The role involves handling fire/smoke damage repair, water extraction, and coordination with supervisors to ensure timely completion and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Experience in restoration or construction preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem solving and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of disaster restoration industry.
• Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
• Experience with data entry on tablet or mobile device.
• Punctual with clean, complete uniform.
• Read and follow product label usage instructions.
• Certifications are preferred: FSRT and OCT.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders, ensures equipment and supplies are loaded for the job and arrives at the site.
• Explain processes and next steps to customers in person, using printed materials as a guide.
• Completes assigned jobs per company processes with quality control and urgency.
• Performs fire/smoke damage repair, water extraction, pack-out of contents, and light demolition as directed.
• Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled and reports any malfunctions.
• Inspects jobs after completion, obtains customer signatures, and requests payments when necessary.
• Adjusts the drying plan daily based on meter readings.
• Resolves issues with customers and communicates with supervisor and staff.
• Prepares documentation and photos to support insurance reimbursement.

The Fire Restoration Technician prepares and reviews documentation to include notes, photos and documents according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies, as well as explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.

The Fire Restoration Technician prepares and reviews documentation to include notes, photos and documents according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies, as well as explains processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Retrieves work orders, ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck needed for job, arrives to work site.
• Explain processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution in person to customers using printed materials as a guide with or without supervisor
• Completes assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job with urgency
• Performs fire/smoke damage repair and tasks to include water extraction, pack-out of contents, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, light construction and demolition as directed by supervisor
• Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled. Reports any equipment malfunction and or damage to supervisor
• Inspects jobs after completion and obtains customer signatures for approval purposes, and requests payments when necessary
• Responsible for making daily adjustments to the drying plan based on meter readings

• Resolves issues with customers, communicates customer issues, daily job activities with supervisor and key company staff
• Prepares documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies

Job Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience in the restoration or construction industry is preferred, but not required
• Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record
• Good verbal and written and communication skills
• Good problem solving and customer service skills
• Knowledge of disaster restoration industry
• Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
• Experience with entering data using a tablet or mobile phone
• Report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
• Read and follow product label usage instructions
• Certifications are preferred, but not required:
• FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
• OCT – Odor Control Technician
