Job summary

The City of Madison, Alabama seeks a Firefighter who responds to emergencies, provides fire suppression, rescue, and EMS to the public. The role includes training, inspections, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Qualifications

• Must meet NFPA 1001 Firefighter qualifications.
• EMT license required within 1 year of hire; Paramedic desirable.
• Must complete CPR Instructor within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency calls for fire suppression, rescue, and medical aid.
• Operates as part of a team using firefighting equipment to extinguish fires and handle hazardous materials.
• Provides basic and advanced life support EMS; transports patients when needed.
• Performs fire prevention inspections and participates in training and public education.
• Maintains reports and records of incidents and duties.
