Job summary

Brevard County's Fire Rescue Department is seeking a dedicated payroll and accounts payable professional to support the Finance Section. Based at Central Area/Rockledge/Timothy J. Mills Fire Rescue Center, this role handles time entry, post-payroll, payroll journals, and budget monitoring.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance fields and the ability to meet HIPAA and FEMA NIMS training requirements. Some after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform payroll planning, organizing, and coordinating duties within the Fire Rescue Finance Section, including time entry, post-payroll, payroll journals, corrections, and manual updates.
• Examine, analyze, and verify invoices, bills, and vouchers; assist in preparing and monitoring budgets; maintain filing systems for payroll and financial documents.
• Respond to payroll and accounts payable inquiries; resolve complicated customer-related issues for internal and external customers.
