Job summary

Bechtel Global Corporation in New Albany, Ohio, is seeking a Fire Protection & Life Safety Systems Subcontract Technical Representative (STR). You will lead subcontractors from engineering to turnover, ensuring compliance with IMCS, codes, and project schedules.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA standards, P&ID reading, and field inspections; you will coordinate BIM, hydraulic calculations, and system integrations across Fire Alarm, VESDA, sprinkler, and life-safety networks.

Qualifications

• NFPA fire protection standards, FM Global requirements, and building codes knowledge.
• Ability to read Isometrics, P&ID's, orthographics, and plans.
• Familiarity with Bechtel work processes and standard procedures.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Willingness to perform field inspections on a construction site with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coordination, and technical oversight of subcontractors.
• Ensure all systems are designed, installed, tested, and documented per IMCS and codes.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables including LOD400 models, hydraulic calculations, BIM coordination.
• Oversee installation and integration of fire alarm, voice evacuation, and life safety systems.
• Coordinate interfaces with HVAC, BMS, FMS, and other building systems.
• Manage quality surveillance, ITPs, inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance, scheduling, procurement status, and risks.
• Coordinate RFIs, design changes, nonconformance, and turnover documentation.
• Interface with Intel representatives, AHJs, SIAs, and commissioning personnel.
• Support startup, operator training, and spare parts turnover.
