Job summary

GBA is seeking a Fire Protection & Life Safety Engineer for its Lenexa, KS office. The role involves leading or assisting in design, planning, and commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems within life sciences, mission critical, and industrial markets.

Required 7+ years in fire alarm, sprinkler, and life safety design with a Bachelor's in Fire Protection Engineering. NFPA knowledge and AutoCAD/Revit skills are essential. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field is required.
7+ years in fire alarm, sprinkler, and life safety design.
Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
PE license preferred but not required; willingness to pursue PE during tenure.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Responsibilities

Lead or assist in code consulting, planning, design, and commissioning of fire protection systems.
Draft and model in AutoCAD and Revit; prepare specifications.
Perform hydraulic calculations and review shop drawings.
