Job summary

Atlantis Fire Protection, LLC, via its McCoy Fire & Safety division, seeks a field inspector to perform scheduled inspections and tests of water-based fire protection and fire alarm systems across the Southeast. You will document findings, maintain credentials, and communicate life-safety impacts to customers and supervisors.

Requirements include NICET Level II in water-based and fire alarm testing, UF TREEO backflow certification, and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of inspection/service experience.
• NICET Level II in Water-Based and Fire Alarm Systems required.
• UF TREEO Backflow Tester certification; state permits as applicable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan routes, verify site contacts, review history, and maintain professional communication.
• Inspect and test water-based systems per NFPA 25 and local codes.
• Inspect and test fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 and procedures.
• Perform backflow tests and complete required forms per regulations.
• Conduct additional tests without impairment or disruption to operations.
• Coordinate test status, notifications, and approvals with stakeholders.
• Document results, photos, model/serial data, and recommendations.
• Classify deficiencies and generate repair leads for estimates.
• Light troubleshooting within scope; obtain approvals for billable repairs.
• Maintain equipment readiness and report any issues promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain licenses and training.
