Job summary

State of Florida's State Fire Marshal Division, Fire Prevention Bureau in Plantation, FL, seeks a Fire Protection Specialist to coordinate statutory inspections and perform fire safety inspections across multi-county areas. The role enforces fire and life-safety codes, reviews construction documents for compliance, and prepares official reports.

Minimum one year in fire code enforcement and familiarity with Florida statutes 633 and 69A are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate statutory inspection activities across a multi-county area.
• Perform fire safety inspections of state-owned buildings and facilities.
• Enforce fire prevention laws and review plans for compliance.
• Inspect and approve new construction and renovations before occupancy.
• Prepare written reports and testify as an expert witness when required.
