• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting fire safety training to groups; 2) Eliminating or reducing hazards where the expectancy and potential for severity is high; 3)Inspecting buildings for potential fire hazards (e.g. obstructed exits, presence of combustible materials, etc.); and 4) Adapting fire protection/prevention techniques to correct conditions or hazardous situations. Physical Demands

Work involves lifting 10 lbs or more, travel off-shore islands via aircraft depending on the area of responsibility, standing for long periods, stooping, crawling, crouching, walking, climbing, standing on ladders, and functioning in enclosed or small spaces during inspections or investigations. The incumbent must maintain an appropriate state driver’s license to operate vehicles.

Work Environment

The work involves a mixture of office work and exposure to hazardous conditions such as high noise areas, oxygen-deficient/enriched atmospheres, hazardous material storage, spray painting, POL facilities, welding/cutting, weapons areas, high voltage electrical rooms, LOX areas, and construction sites. Safety and monitoring programs are in place, such as hearing conservation.
