Job Title: Fire Protection Inspector

The primary function of this role is to perform NFPA based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The goal is to grow inspection revenues while maintaining profits, satisfying customer requirements, and staying NFPA compliant.

This role requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on customer development, quality work, and knowledge of NFPA codes. Travel to customer sites is required.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Perform basic troubleshooting of wet-based fire systems and communicate issues to owners and service managers.
• Perform inspections from man lifts at heights of 30 to 40 feet.
• Conduct annual inspections on domestic and fire backflows.
• Monitor and ensure progress of all tasks.
• Complete and submit work tickets and inspection reports promptly.
• Self-schedule daily inspections.

Qualifications

Education / Work Experience

• NFPA 25 inspections on various fire protection systems and fire pumps.
• NFPA 72 inspections on fire alarm systems (plus).
• High school diploma or GED; vocational or trade school is a plus.
• Knowledge of fire protection systems: wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, fire pumps.
• Backflow license and NICET Level II are advantages.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, lifts.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications, including NICET.
• Ability to lift at least 35 pounds.

Computer Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
