Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Firefighter 4 to join our Environmental, Health, Safety and Fire Protection team at the BWI Site in Linthicum, Maryland. You will implement fire and building code programs across MD sites and support Haz-Mat and fire brigades at multiple locations.

The position requires certifications and extensive fire service experience. The role offers salary range and comprehensive benefits, plus opportunities for overtime and bonuses based on performance and company factors.

Qualifications

• 6 years of fire service experience and knowledge of NIMS and readiness to respond to incidents.
• Fire Inspector II and Firefighter I certifications from the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local codes related to fire protection, life safety, building construction, fire control and fire detection.
• Ability to obtain a Haz-Mat Technician certification with required medical surveillance and SCBA certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic building fire safety inspections.
• Inspect new construction for building and fire code compliance.
• Support facilities engineering with construction plan reviews.
• Support in-house and sector EHSFP audits.
• Inspect, test and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Inspect, test and maintain water-based and special suppression systems.
• Support and respond to fire and hazardous materials incidents.
• Train and support in-house emergency response teams and building evacuations.
• Coordinate with outside emergency response teams to mitigate incidents quickly and minimize downtime.
