Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Manager to lead the South Facilities Engineering and Design team. You will mentor engineers, guide projects, and ensure technical excellence across fire protection and life-safety systems.

The role involves collaboration with architects and MEP teams, driving business development, and managing resources for successful delivery. Travel is approximately 10% and compensation reflects Colorado market ranges.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field and PE license required; FPE credential preferred.
8+ years of fire protection engineering experience with leadership or supervision experience.
Experience supporting business development, proposals, and client relationships.
Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC, IFC, UFCs and client specs.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD or similar design tools.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fire protection engineers and designers.
Manage workload, staffing, and project assignments to ensure delivery.
Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for fire protection designs.
Oversee design/review of fire suppression and life safety systems per codes.
Build client relationships and support business development initiatives.
Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers for integrated solutions.
Drive continuous improvement and share knowledge across the team.
Assist with recruiting, succession planning, and growth initiatives.
Monitor project quality, schedules, and budgets; travel ~10% as needed.
