Core States Group is offering a Summer 2027 Fire Protection Engineering Intern position in Bentonville, AR. You will work with experienced engineers on life safety systems, gaining hands-on experience over an 11-week program.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Interested in life safety systems and code compliance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player
• Eager to learn in a fast-paced multidisciplinary AEC environment

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams on projects involving life safety systems and fire protection design. Throughout this 11- week internship program, you will:

• Assist with fire alarm and fire suppression system layouts


• Support code analysis and life safety reviews


• Participate in project coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams


• Review applicable fire and building codes


• Attend site visits and observe construction progress


• Assist with permit and construction documentation preparation


• Learn how fire protection systems integrate into architectural and MEP designs

Software & Technical Skills You’ll Learn

Interns will gain hands‑on experience using industry‑standard mechanical engineering software and tools, including:

• AutoCAD


• Revit


• NFPA standards and code review resources


• BIM coordination tools


• Microsoft Office Suite
