Job summary

Dominion Energy's Corporate Risk Engineering group provides loss control support to all business units and interfaces with insurers. The intern will participate in projects such as offshore wind, hydrogen blending, peak shaving LNG terminals, and battery storage facilities, applying fire protection engineering principles to develop practical risk reduction solutions.

The position offers exposure to exciting, real-world challenges in an energy utilities setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student pursuing an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Anticipated graduation between Fall 2027 and Fall 2029.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater required.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection system specifications, design and bid evaluations.
• Conduct construction walkdowns and participate in system acceptance tests.
• Apply fire protection engineering principles to develop practical risk reduction solutions.
• Coordinate with other departments, contractors and vendors to gather information and support projects.
