Job summary

GBA Companies invites engineering students to join our summer internship in the Fire Protection group in Lenexa, KS. Interns gain hands-on experience while working with industry experts in a collaborative environment.

You'll assist with designs, analyses, site visits, and learn through mentorship, with opportunities to rotate through related projects and engage in quality-control processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or another related engineering degree from accredited program.
• 3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software is preferred
• Finished at least two years of school
• Involved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing designs, analyses, calculations, and models related to fire protection systems, life safety systems, and passive fire protection building features.
• Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.
• Follow quality control processes and design standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.
• Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
