Jensen Hughes is looking to hire college students for internships within our Fire Protection Engineering department at many of our locations throughout the United States.

We are a leading fire protection consulting firm providing a range of professional services involving life safety, fire protection, security and mass notification on commercial, institutional, and industrial projects for clients worldwide.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of engineering principles or construction technology and practices.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret businessPeriodicals, journals, procedures or regulations.
• Strong written and oral communication to write reports and respond to stakeholders.
• Self-starter with problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develops, modifies, and reviews drawings of systems or components to standards.
• Prepares plans, specifications, and inspection reports to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
• Assists in field investigations, detailed design work, and coordination of design aspects.
• Identifies applicable codes and standards for inquiries.
• Conducts analyses such as building code, egress, fire detection, smoke control, and sprinkler reviews.
• Performs basic calculations (eg, egress, area, sprinkler water supplies).
• Communicates effectively with project team members, clients, and others.
