How You Can Make An Impact

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be a key member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing safety and fire protection topics.

Key Activities
  1. Create safety concepts for passenger rail vehicles regarding fire protection and evacuation
  2. Create fire risk analysis
  3. Create specifications for internal and external customers
  4. Interpret and incorporate local, federal, as well as customer requirements into system design
  5. Define procurement documentation, type testing, and commissioning documentation
  6. Approve materials, products, and components regarding fire protection
  7. Compile fire protection documentation for regulatory bodies, agencies, and customers
  8. Follow scheduling, budgetary goals, and guidelines
  9. Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration
Qualifications
  1. BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  2. Independent and well-structured working methods for managing multiple projects, conducting testing, and preparing all system deliverables
  3. Excellent communication, technical writing, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  4. Minimum 2 years of experience with fire protection in railway, defense, aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
  5. Experience with NFPA 130 is a plus
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  7. Self-motivated attitude and initiative to maintain project timelines
  8. Business fluency in English (German is a plus)
