Job summary

Hampton Farms is seeking a Plant Fire Suppression Engineer to design, evaluate, and maintain fire suppression systems across its food manufacturing facilities nationwide. The role focuses on protecting personnel, equipment, and assets by ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and insurance requirements.

The engineer will work with operations, maintenance, EHS, contractors, and AHJs to deliver reliable protection, oversee installation and commissioning, and support ongoing system documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years supporting industrial fire suppression systems or similar environments.
• Experience in food manufacturing, roasting operations, or industrial processing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, fire codes, and fire protection infrastructure.
• Ability to read fire protection layouts, P&IDs and system specifications.
• Willingness to travel regularly to nationwide facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate and support fire suppression system projects for roasting operations and facilities.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and review layouts and drawings.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, EHS, and AHJs for compliance and reliability.
• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and startup of fire suppression systems.
• Maintain documentation and compliance reports for fire protection systems.
