Job summary

The Department of Energy Headquarters in Washington, DC seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to serve as the recognized expert in fire protection, life safety, risk management, and business continuity. You will manage all elements of the HQ fire protection program and act as the system owner for alarms, sprinklers, and other life safety systems.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage the fire protection and life safety programs for DOE Headquarters.
Act as the system owner for fire alarms, sprinklers, and life safety systems.
Prepare and approve facility drawings and technical specs per NFPA codes.
Resolve life safety issues with AHJ and advise senior management.
Design fire safety training and lead occupant emergency planning.
Lead building surveys and fire safety investigations to identify hazards.
