Exponent is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Thermal Sciences Practice across multiple U.S. locations, including Los Angeles. You will lead investigations of failures and analyze protection systems for vehicles, structures, and industrial processes, communicating findings to clients.

The role requires a Ph.D. or Master’s in Fire Protection Engineering, strong thermodynamics/CFD fundamentals, and hands-on lab and field experience.

Formación

• Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Experience in fire protection engineering or intern experience is highly desirable.
• Strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with experimental programs.
• Experience in fire protection system design, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance is a plus.
• Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate the performance of fire protection, fire detection, and life safety systems.
• Review fire protection codes and standards.
• Conduct laboratory assessments of material flammability.
• Plan and execute experimental test programs.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis.
• Conduct fieldwork.
• Prepare proposals and technical reports, and present findings to clients.
