You will assist with fire protection systems analysis, code compliance, and collaboration across disciplines to help deliver safe, reliable facilities.
Bachelor's degree pursuit required; strong Excel/Word skills and a growth mindset are essential; this internship offers hands-on experience.
Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology with a Fire Protection focus or related degree.
- Must have knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of fire protection design and fire hazard analysis for industrial facility job sites to determine hazards and designate active and passive protection.
- Assist in applying building and fire code requirements (IBC/IFC), NFPA standards, and other codes for projects.
- Assist in development of specifications and administration of contracts for fire protection systems.
- Review elements of facilities related to life safety and means of egress.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure design quality of fire protection systems.
