Job summary

Bowman Consulting is seeking a Fire Protection Consultant I to join our Towson, MD team. This entry-level role supports fire protection engineering and life safety projects under senior staff, assisting with evaluations, documentation, site visits, and code compliance efforts.

You will gain technical expertise and contribute to client deliverables. Ideal candidates hold a relevant engineering degree, 0–2 years of experience, and are pursuing or able to obtain EIT/NICET certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field required.
• 0–2 years of relevant fire protection engineering, consulting, construction, inspection, or related experience preferred.
• Internship or academic project experience in fire protection engineering preferred.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain is preferred.
• NICET certification or other fire protection certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support fire protection and life safety system design analyses and project deliverables.
• Assist with code research and interpretation relevant to projects.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documents for client review.
• Conduct site visits and collect data to support assessments.
• Coordinate activities with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
