Job summary

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will apply fire protection engineering expertise to ensure compliance with NFPA, UFC, and agency requirements in secure environments.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Fire Protection Engineering, a PE license, and at least 5 years of experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering is required.
• PE license is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in fire protection engineering.
• Experience with NFPA, UFC and life-safety standards.
• Experience in secure government facilities and IC/DoD context.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and evaluate fire protection and life safety systems.
• Perform fire hazard analyses, life safety assessments, and code compliance reviews.
• Apply NFPA, UFC, IBC/IFC and agency-specific requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, facility managers, and leadership.
• Review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for compliance.
• Conduct field inspections, testing, and acceptance of fire protection systems.
• Support risk assessments and mitigation for mission-critical facilities.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs as required.
• Prepare technical reports, design analyses, and formal recommendations.
• Support emergency planning, fire response coordination, and continuity initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of emerging fire protection technologies and best practices.
