Job summary

Obsolete Site in Hawaii seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to design and review fire protection, detection, mass notification, and life safety systems for military facilities. You will serve as a technical consultant to USAG-HI/DPW on FPP engineering matters.

The role requires applying policy directives, supporting pre-design surveys, and advising on program interpretations; a security clearance and 10% TDY travel are possible during employment.

Qualifications

• Basic engineering degree with fundamentals in statics, dynamics, or equivalent.
• Experience applying fire protection principles to design and review.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills in engineering contexts.

Responsibilities

• Develops and reviews studies, scopes of work, design analyses, preliminary and final design plans, and specifications for fire protection, fire detection, mass notification, and life safety features.
• Serves as the US Army Garrison-Hawaii and DPW technical authority on Fire Prevention/Protection engineering matters.
• Provides expert advice on interpretation of FPP policy directives and programs.
