Job summary

EwingCole, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our Raleigh office. You will provide design assistance for life safety systems, code analysis, and integration with architectural and engineering disciplines on complex projects.

Responsibilities include preparing life safety plans, fire suppression and fire alarm documents, reviewing codes with AHJs, leading client meetings, and travel regionally or beyond as needed. A PE license and NFPA experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection or Architectural Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer in at least one state.
Experience in analysis or design of building fire safety systems.
Experience in code consulting with ICC and NFPA 101.
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit and Office Suite.
Experience with ICC (IBC, IFC) model building codes and NFPA 13, 72.

Responsibilities

Prepare Life Safety Plans for complex projects and support Project Architect (PA) performed Life Safety Plans for other projects.
Prepare Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm contract documents for complex projects and support Plumbing and Electrical Engineers for other projects.
Assist with code reviews/interpretations.
Lead meetings with clients, code officials, and other project stakeholders to negotiate/resolve fire protection and/or life safety code issues.
Travel regionally, nationally and internationally in support of project requirements.
