Job summary

HDR is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer in North Carolina for HDR's Building Engineering Services. The successful candidate will manage fire protection on complex projects, coordinate with other disciplines, and meet with clients and contractors.

A PE license and 3+ years of experience in commercial/institutional facilities are preferred. Bachelor's in Fire Protection or related field is required, with MS Office and TRACE software experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or licensed in process for location.
• Experience in commercial or institutional facilities is required.
• MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software experience.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fire protection portions of complex projects.
• Independently evaluate and apply engineering techniques for fire protection issues.
• Lead drawings, specifications, schedules, and budgets; direct staff.
• Meet with clients and contractors; coordinate with other disciplines.
• Prepare project status reports and ensure information continuity with the client.
