Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly motivated Fire Protection Engineer with zero to three years of experience to join our team. Our office is willing to train the right individual in this growing discipline.

You will support our Fire Protection Department by providing services such as:

• Automatic suppression system design
• Fire detection, alarm, and mass notification system design
• Code analysis and interpretation
• Egress analysis
• Fire-resistant construction analysis
• Smoke control analysis
• General fire protection and life safety concepts and research

Qualifications

Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
• 0-3 years of relevant experience
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Required Duties and Skills:

• Proficiency in daily computer tasks including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic graphics
• Managing contacts with clients and internal teams effectively
• Conducting research and documentation for internal and external use
• Analyzing existing fire protection systems and designing new systems
• Interpreting building and fire codes
