Fire Protection Engineer

Position: Full time

Location: Remote

Metric Geo is working with one of the top engineering firms currently hiring for a fire protection engineer. The role involves supporting fire protection engineering, fire and life safety systems, code compliance, and risk assessment efforts. The ideal candidate will develop fire protection plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The FPE will also mentor and lead the team to enhance skills and ensure quality in engineering and design tasks.

Desired experience:

• Expertise in fire protection, fire alarm, and life safety systems; experience with HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and utilities, especially in healthcare, central plant infrastructure, and aerospace facilities.
• Experience as engineer of record from concept through construction documents and administration.
• Proficiency with hydraulic calculations, fire pump sizing, fire alarm battery sizing.
• Proficient with design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ability to design layouts of distribution systems and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ post-degree experience working for an MEP or AE firm.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license; EIT considered.
• Ability and desire to work remotely; local candidates may choose hybrid or in-office work.
