Job summary

CM Mission Critical Engineering, LLC in Dallas seeks a Fire Protection Designer to develop fire protection system designs and construction documents for data centers, coordinating with engineers and architects to produce clash-free drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, applying NFPA codes.

You will design sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm systems, ensure constructibility, and support submittals, RFIs, and site documentation; strong detail and communication required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent knowledge gained from education and/or work experience
• 2–5 years of Fire Protection Design experience
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoSPRINK, AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of NFPA and ICC codes and standards

Responsibilities

• Produces highly detailed, coordinated construction drawings across all disciplines
• Coordinates with internal team members to support project success
• Integrates into a highly technical team and consistently delivers high‑quality work
• Designs compliant and effective fire protection systems and fire alarm systems
• Assists with submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction‑phase documentation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Summary

The Fire Protection Designer develops fire protection system designs and construction documents for data center and mission-critical facilities, working under the direction of the Fire Protection Engineer of Record. This role models and lays out sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and fire alarm systems in Revit, coordinating with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to produce clash-free, constructible drawings. The designer applies NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 72, the IBC and IFC, and local amendments to every design.

Education & Experience

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk & working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
