Job summary

Reliance Fire Protection, Inc., a member of the Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies, seeks a Design Designer in its Baltimore, MD location as part of a development program. The role focuses on designing and coordinating fire protection systems for various facilities, with mentorship and a defined 10-year career path.

The candidate will work on-site in Baltimore and collaborate with project managers and the Lead Designer through multiple projects, gaining experience in 2-D and 3-D drawing tools,

Qualifications

• Good planning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to see the big picture in design projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Professional, detail oriented with file organization skills.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and scheduling of project work.
• Design dry and wet fire protection systems per codes.
• Assist field surveys of existing buildings and systems.
• Use design software for 2-D & 3-D drawings.
• Assist with system calculations and estimates.
• Prepare conceptual drawings and shop drawings with the team.
• Produce as-built drawings and select equipment.
