Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. seeks a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design Fire Protection Systems for diverse projects. You will create layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and perform hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

The role requires 5+ years of Fire Protection design experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK. NICET certification is preferred; valid driver’s license required. Onsite work with potential extended hours.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of Fire Protection design experience preferred
• NICET certification preferred
• AutoCAD experience and/or HydraCAD/AutoSPRINK/ Hydratec experience required
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills
• Regular attendance including extended hours/weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents and drawings
• Write, plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
• BIM modeling and field surveying
• Provide fabrication lists and coordinate between trades
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Shambaugh is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer who will design Fire Protection Systems for all types of projects. You will design layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and create hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications
• Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups
• Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
• Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying
• Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades
• Other duties as assigned

• 5+ years of Fire Protection design experience preferred
• NICET certification preferred
• AutoCad experience and/or Hydratec Experience required

• Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills
