Street Legal is seeking a part-time Fire Operations Training Consultant to join our Richland, WA project on-site with the DOE Hanford Field Office. The role focuses on developing and delivering training, helping design exercises, and ensuring compliance with fire service programs.

Qualifications

• 10 years of Hanford Site fire/emergency response experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
• Subject Matter Expert level incident command experience in technical rescue, including high angle, confined space, hazmat response and radiological events.
• Detailed knowledge of Hanford facilities, land, and hazards.
• Experience providing training to firefighters.
• Documented work experience on resume supporting all minimum qualifications and the listed tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and provide training supporting transition of fire service activities.
• Assist in developing exercises, performance tests, and surveillance to validate capabilities for transition activities with other fire departments.
• Ensure compliance with training programs for fire department personnel and equipment use.
• Provide input in developing, negotiating, and managing fire service transition plans, agreements, and contracts.
• Help establish strategies and procedures for emergency service plans and EOC capabilities.
• Validate fire service transition activities against NFPA standards and traditional practices.
• Review and assist with performance testing, drills, and exercise support for fire agencies.
• Assist with oversight of Hanford Fire Department during transition of services.
• Incorporate lessons learned from federal oversight into plans and procedures.
• Assist with oversight for contractor emergency preparedness and management programs.
• Review firefighting apparatus acquisition specs to meet department needs.
