Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking a Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Installer/Service Technician. You will install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites, including Simplex, Fike, Kidde, Inergen and CO2 systems.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with the project manager, support multiple projects, and train customers on system operation. Strong safety focus and ability to work flexible hours are essential.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
• Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by National, State and local codes.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include lifting up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to pass pre-employment background and drug test.
• Able to travel overnight if required.
• Flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission and service Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems at customer sites.
• Coordinate installation activities with the project manager and other trades.
• Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and specifications; attend site meetings.
• Instruct and train customers on system operation and conduct simulations.
• Maintain documentation and ensure safety policies are followed.
