Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a Shop Support Technician in Boise, ID. You will assist with the assembly, preparation, and maintenance of fire and life safety system components, ensuring materials are ready for field installation and shipment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 1+ years in mechanical or warehouse work, with basic tool knowledge and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. A collaborative, safety-conscious team awaits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of mechanical, warehouse, or construction experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the assembly and preparation of fire and life safety system components and materials.
• Support pipe cutting, threading, grooving, and general fabrication activities.
• Inspect, clean, and prepare equipment and materials for field installation and service.
• Receive and organize materials and ensure proper storage within the shop.
• Maintain shop tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and working condition.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment as needed.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and preparing job shipments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
