Job summary

Gulfshoresal is seeking a Certified Fire Safety Inspector to protect lives and property within our Emergency Services team. You will enforce fire codes, inspect occupancies, and review reports while interpreting technical data and code manuals.

The starting pay is $31.16 per hour with benefits beginning within 60 days of hire. Applicants must hold a Florida State Certified Fire Safety Inspector Certificate and have at least one year of fire safety inspection experience, plus a valid Florida

Qualifications

• Holds a valid Florida State Certified Fire Safety Inspector Certificate.
• Minimum of one year of fire safety inspection experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Subject to pre‑employment drug screening.
• Beards, mustaches, and related policies are part of department rules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire and life safety code enforcement, including testing of fire protection systems and occupancy inspections.
• Survey commercial structures to identify hazardous materials and relay information for pre-incident planning.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of flammable, combustible, and hazardous materials.
• Inspect and test fire protection systems for compliance with codes and standards.
• Collaborate with County divisions on occupancy releases and inspections.
• Provide inspection support to areas outside the Fire Department’s jurisdiction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate information with relevant departments.
• Respond to inquiries and conduct fire safety awareness programs.
