Qualifikationen

• Monitoring and operation of the fire alarm and elevator system panels.
• Primary contact for First Responders (FDNY/NYPD) for emergencies.
• Coordinate with property management, security and engineering staff.
• Evaluate incidents and take appropriate action.
• Make clear and articulate public-address announcements when required.
• Perform facility safety inspections and monthly fire/extinguisher tests.
• Plan fire drills per code and update ward/brigade teams.
• Assist with access control monitoring including turnstiles and cameras.
• Screen visitors and issue passes to authorized individuals.
• Prepare incident reports and escalate serious issues per protocol.
• Assist with Security Officer coverage as required.

Qualifications as a Fire Life Safety Director

• Monitoring and operation of the fire alarm and elevator system panels.
• Serve as primary point of contact for First Responders (FDNY/NYPD) for fire, non-fire, medical emergencies and elevator entrapments.
• Work closely with property management, security and building engineering staff.
• Ability to evaluate various incidents and take appropriate action
• Make clear and articulate public-address announcements, as required.
• Perform facility safety inspections and testing including monthly fire extinguisher and elevator fire service.
• Plan fire and non-fire drills as per code.
• Update floor warden and brigade teams as needed.
• In addition, assist with monitoring access control systems including turnstiles, cameras, loading dock.
• Screen visitors, guests, contractors and delivery personnel and issue passes to authorized individuals.
• Prepare incident reports and elevate serious issues to manager(s) as per protocol.
• Assist with Security Officer coverage as required.

Fire Life Safety Director Part time

ESI maintains operations 24/7/365 and is an “essential business” in the New York area. We work during normal times as well as when other businesses may be closed down. The position requires flexibility and an ability to work whatever schedule and hours are deemed necessary to efficiently accomplish the work and service our clients, which may include working extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or during emergency situations, such as natural disasters (storms, including but not limited to rain, wind, snow and ice, floods, power outages, fires, earthquakes, etc.), public health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic, government-declared states of emergency, labor strikes, and force majeure events. Accessibility to answer questions by email or phone during off hours in accordance with ESI policies is expected. The ability to work this schedule is an essential function of the job.
