Job summary

McEntire JNGS Fire Department is seeking a skilled Firefighting Equipment Operator/Vehicle Driver and Shift Lieutenant to support 24/7 emergency response across airfield, structural, medical, and hazmat incidents. You will supervise crews, conduct CFETP-aligned training, and ensure documentation and safety compliance.

The role requires NFPA 1001/1072 credentials, annual medical clearance, a background check, and a USAF vehicle operator card during training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must possess and maintain a current State driver’s license.
• Must meet NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II; NFPA 1072 Hazmat Awareness/Operations/Technician requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead firefighting operations as shift lieutenant and supervise crews.
• Deliver training per CFETP, NFPA standards, and IFSAC requirements; certify training records.
• Operate firefighting vehicles on runways/taxiways and enforce safety protocols.
