Job summary

McEntire JNGS Fire Department in South Carolina seeks qualified firefighters to maintain 24-hour response capability to aircraft, structural, vehicular, medical and other emergencies. You will protect evidence, perform salvage and overhaul of fire scenes, and coordinate with base and civilian agencies.

Candidates must meet NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II qualifications, NFPA 1582 medical standards, hold a HS diploma or GED, a valid state driver’s license, and complete on-boarding credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet NFPA 1001 Firefighter I/II qualifications within 12 months.
• NFPA 1582 medical examination required.
• Valid State driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 fire control center duties and information flow.
• Perform fire prevention inspections and compliance checks.
• Inspections of facilities, equipment, hydrants and alarms.
• Operate and maintain fire department vehicles and related equipment.
• Undergo required training and stay proficient in all vehicle operations.
• Work shifts and adhere to safety and on-call recall.
