Job summary

McEntire Joint National Guard Base seeks a Health and Safety Officer/Fire Prevention Specialist to oversee occupational health and safety compliance and fire prevention across the installation, developing proactive fire safety plans and leading investigations into safety incidents.

The role includes conducting inspections, delivering training, enforcing DoD/AF/OSHA standards, and coordinating readiness under a demanding 56-hour week with 24-hour recall.

Qualifications

• Developing and implementing proactive fire safety and emergency plans.
• Conducting safety briefings and training for base personnel.
• Leading investigations into safety incidents or fire-related emergencies.
• Enforcing NFPA, OSHA and DoD/AF safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee occupational health and safety compliance within the department.
• Manage fire prevention programs across the installation.
• Respond to emergencies while on duty and conduct routine inspections.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate actions to ensure NFPA 1500 and Occupational Safety and Health compliance.
