Job summary

SGS is seeking a Fire Testing Lab Technician to perform fire and flammability testing on consumer products. You will work under supervision in a routine laboratory setting, following SOPs and industry standards. Strong attention to detail and safe work habits are essential.

The role includes setting up and conducting tests, maintaining reports, and ensuring calibration and QA tasks align with ISO 17025 and internal procedures. Proficiency in MS Office tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be comfortable working in a fire testing laboratory.
• Basic math and reading/writing skills.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing in a flammability lab following SOPs.
• Test to applicable standards (ASTM, NFPA, CFR, ISO) and customer protocols.
• Develop, write, review, and validate test methods, SOPs and QC documents.
• Set up, test, extinguish, and overhaul various fire tests; maintain lab reports.
