The City of Westminster is seeking a Fire Inspector to join the Fire Prevention Bureau and support inspections, permits, and safety education. You will conduct technical inspections of fire protection systems, interpret codes, and maintain records under the Fire Marshal’s direction.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, IFc Inspector I certification, and a valid driver's license, with II certification expected within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• State of Colorado Driver Operator Utility license within one year.
• International Fire Code Fire Inspector I certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience conducting inspections of fire and/or building code inspections.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Within 60 days of appointment: International Fire Code Fire Inspector II.

Responsabilités

• Maintain Fire Department records and files in required timeframes.
• Conduct technical inspections of fire sprinkler, alarm, hood systems, and storage tanks.
• Issue and approve permits as required by the Fire Department.
• Research and analyze applicable codes and standards for inspections.
• Assist with Fire Department training related to Prevention Bureau activities.
• One week on-call rotation for fire investigation.
