Job summary

Port Houston seeks a Fire Inspector to enforce federal, state, local, Port Houston tariffs, and fire codes. You will inspect, educate, and coordinate with contractors to ensure fire protection systems and life safety compliance at Port Houston facilities.

Responsibilities include leading monthly and annual inspections of fire pumps, extinguishers, hydrants, and cascade systems; preparing reports; and conducting fire drills and training across Port Houston sites.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of firefighting experience required.
  • Active certifications listed under License/Certification above.
  • TWIC must be obtained within 30 days of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and enforce fire codes across Port Houston facilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors for inspections of pumps, extinguishers, hoses, ladders, SCBA.
  • Prepare reports for hydrant and extinguisher inspections.
  • Lead monthly and annual inspections and drills.
  • Ensure documentation and compliance with state and Port Houston regulations.
