Job summary

State Fire is seeking a Fire Extinguisher/Hood Suppression Technician in Sparks, NV. You will inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen fire suppression systems, and perform annual extinguisher testing. This role includes client service, daily reporting on an iPad, and potential cross-training into other fire protection areas.

We offer full training, compensation at $22/hour, with $24/hour if licensed in fire extinguishers, plus benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime and travel overnight when needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
• Perform annual testing and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
• Inspect and maintain emergency and exit lighting.
• Complete inspection reports and daily paperwork using a company-provided iPad.
• Service existing clientele and build new relationships to grow the customer base.
