Job summary

State Fire is seeking a Fire Extinguisher/Hood Suppression Technician based in the Salt Lake City area. You will inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and extinguishers, with training provided.

The role requires living north of Salt Lake between Bountiful and Ogden and involves independent work with occasional travel. Enjoy competitive pay ($20/hour plus commissions), benefits, and a supportive team environment with opportunities to grow within a trusted fire

Qualifications

• Reside between Bountiful and Ogden.
• Ability to use hand and battery-operated tools.
• Comfortable working independently and managing time efficiently.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and verbal.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Willingness to travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
• Perform annual testing and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
• Inspect and maintain emergency and exit lighting.
• Complete inspection reports and daily paperwork using a company-provided iPad.
• Service existing clientele and build new relationships to grow the customer base.

This position is based out of our Salt Lake City office, but we need a technician who lives north of Salt Lake—between Bountiful and Ogden.

Experience is great, but not required—we provide full training.
