Job summary

United Fire in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Dry Chem Shop Laborer to service extinguishers per NFPA standards and support field technicians in inspections, testing, and repair of extinguishers and system cylinders.

Responsibilities include inspection, testing, and repair; replacing worn parts; filling extinguishers; documenting work; and keeping a clean, organized shop. Requires HS diploma, clean driving record, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Full-time, on-site hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and repair extinguishers and system cylinders.
• Replace worn parts such as tubing, hoses, nozzles, O-rings and check systems.
• Fill extinguishers with appropriate materials (ABC/BC dry chemical, nitrogen, CO2, etc.).
• Perform leak checks and clean serviced extinguishers.
• Assist route service technicians with field maintenance of extinguishers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and clean, organized work area.
