Job Summary: The Extinguisher Shop Technician supports technicians, the shop, and the office, working under the guidance of the Supervisor. Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, equipment upkeep, safety compliance, managing inventory, and assisting with technical tasks to ensure efficient operations within the shop.

Pay Range: $24.00/hour - $39.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of equipment and shop.
• Support safety standards and processes.
• Manage inventory, including transferring, receiving, organizing, shipping, and preparing materials.
• Inspect fire extinguishers for proper operation and compliance.
• Conduct tests such as pressure testing and discharge mechanism checks.
• Perform routine maintenance like refilling, replacing parts, and recharging extinguishers.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning fire extinguishers.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, tests, and repairs.
• Greet and assist walk-in customers as needed.
• Guide customers on fire extinguisher use and fire safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards set by NFPA & OSHA.
• Monitor and report low inventory levels.
• Support completion of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms for Hydro Pit jobs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
