The City of Winfield, Kansas, seeks an experienced Fire-EMS Chief to lead a 28-person department delivering fire and EMS services across a 235-square-mile district. The Chief will oversee operations, training, budgeting, and regional mutual-aid response while ensuring high standards of public safety leadership.

The role requires seven years of Fire/EMS experience (five in supervision, three in command), a KS B-EMT or reciprocity, and IFSAC certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or related field or equivalent executive experience.
• Kansas B-EMT or eligible via reciprocity within one year.
• Seven years of Fire/EMS experience with five in supervision and three in command.
• Valid Kansas driver's license; meet medical, physical and background standards.
• IFSAC Firefighter I/II, Haz-Mat Awareness and Operations, Driver/Operator, Fire Officer I/Instructor I certifications.
