Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma, GED or higher; or 1 year related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials; write reports and procedures; present information to groups.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic math Concepts and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: May be required in area of program.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning: plan, prepare and deliver instruction; assess learning outcomes.
  • Classroom management: maintain schedule, attendance and records; ensure safety and equipment security.
  • Interpersonal/Team Skills: participate in instructional team planning and budgeting.

Job Description

SUMMARY: Conducts a competency based instructional program and provides students with the knowledge and skills with emphasis in a specific area of study.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitation of Learning: Plan, prepare and deliver instruction and facilitate the learning of students in basic education, continuing education and/or business and industry training programs. Assess the learning outcomes of students at the unit, course, and program level.
  • Classroom Management: Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/participate evaluation.
  • Interpersonal/Team Skills: Participate in activities of the instructional team, including planning, development, scheduling, and budgeting as a cooperative and professional team player.
  • Student Support and Guidance: Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement.
  • (If applicable) Curriculum Development: Develop, revise, and continually update curriculum and instructional materials which are competency-based, current, and consistent with employer expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or higher degree diploma; or a minimum of one-year work related experience and/or training is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous teaching experience is desirable.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: May be required in area of program.
