Johnson Controls in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Fire Detection Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on life safety systems. The role involves working with low voltage wiring, documenting inspections, and making minor system adjustments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in fire alarm testing/inspection, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel or work weekends. NICET I is preferred, with certification expected within one year.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Installation or Service Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Alarm Equipment.
• Able to travel overnight and work weekends as required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards.
• Willing to obtain required licenses and certifications as per state/national codes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.
• Work with low voltage wiring and related devices.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via mobile devices.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile devices.
• Provide technical training to junior inspectors.
