Job summary

City of Bend is seeking an experienced Department HR Manager to lead human resources for Bend Fire & Rescue. The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, strategic planning, and recruitment within a department-level HR function.

The ideal candidate will drive equity-focused HR practices, partner with command staff to assess staffing needs, and support labor relations and policy implementation across Citywide HR processes. This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field.
• 4 years of progressively responsible HR experience in a similar position, plus 1 year of managerial experience or an equivalent combination.
