County Emergency Communications in Emmett, MI is seeking Fire Dispatchers to coordinate responses to fires, rescues, and other emergencies. You will receive incident information, verify locations, alert stations, and maintain radio communications with responding crews from a stable work environment.

The role requires strong data entry, organization, and the ability to work in a high-pressure setting, including overnight shifts and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED commonly required; entry-level instruction may be provided by some employers.
• Fire dispatch certification or EMS/incident-management coursework may be required for certain assignments.

Responsabilités

• Receive and document reports of fires, rescues, alarms, and hazardous conditions.
• Verify incident locations and reported risks.
• Alert stations and dispatch apparatus using approved response assignments.
• Monitor radio channels, unit availability, and incident status.
• Relay information about occupants, hazards, and changing conditions.
• Process requests for additional resources through established procedures.
• Coordinate mutual-aid communications when assigned.
• Record dispatch times, unit movements, and significant incident updates.
